Johnny Appleseed Friends

Johnny Appleseed - By: Jodie Shepherd
    Illustrated By: Masumi Furukawa

We spent a day talking about Johnny Appleseed and why he is important in history. The students were fascinated by this man! They had so many questions. And they all wanted to go to Fort Wayne and throw an apple core on his grave. :)

I found these adorable, FREE pot hats on TPT. Get the freebie here. The students loved coloring them, making a hat, and telling students at recess all about Johnny. They kept calling themselves "Kaitlyn Appleseed, Jason Appleseed, etc." It was cute! I wish I could show you their faces in these pictures. They looked adorable.

This book was perfect to teach the students about Johnny Appleseed. It's kid friendly and has great illustrations.

Enjoy the pictures of my sweet students, and their crazy teacher!
